Notes - John Fraser's first home burned down. In 1885 he built a large house on Lower Water Street in Chatham, NB. It was a 2 1/2 story house that measured 40 feet by 28 feet with an ELL measuring 26 feet by 20 feet. They operated it as the Fraser Hotel with a grocery store in the front part. John also had a great deal to do with buying and selling lumber and supplies to overseas ships that docked at the wharf in front of his house. He also sold Liquor.
